15 Rarest Dance Emotes in Fortnite (2024)

Fortnite is a game where cosmetic items and the customization of characters is a big business and a big deal. Players ‘pimp’ out their characters with newly released character, weapon and harvesting tool skins. Your character is a digital reflection of you. Oh, and it’s really popular. Like $2.18B dollars popular.

Not only can you customize the look of your character but you can also determine which emotes (dances and actions) are equipped. What are emotes for? Basically, they let you taunt a player after you eliminate, perform a celebratory victory dance or even get ‘jiggy wit it’ at a live in-game concert performed by a world famous DJ. Sometimes emotes are used to complete a weekly challenge. There are many emotes to choose from in Fortnite but some of them are simply cooler than others.

So why are these the Top 10 Rarest Emotes in Fortnite? Well all of them are currently unobtainable. Others that have an uncommon rarity rating simply were only available for early Fortnite gamers.

11. Fresh

Kind of a controversial emote since there is a pending copyright case on this one. Let’s hope Epic wins this case because this emote rocks. Pretty sure this emote is currently unavailable until further notice.

  • Rarity: Epic
  • Still Obtainable: No
  • Source: Fortnite Item Shop
  • This emote was purchasable at one point in the in-game store.
  • Cost: 800 V-Bucks

12. Distracted

The distracted emote features a player attempting to catch a butterfly with some chopsticks. Essentially you’re showing off how little attention you’re playing to the game. The potential for using this to infuriate other players that you best in firefights must be obvious. This emote never made its way into the actual shop, it only exists in the code for some reason.

13. Hula

Hula appeared in the item shop very briefly and quite a while ago. Overall, it has only been on sale for five days total. This isn’t a particularly special emote, so it might be out of circulation purely from a lack of popularity. Your character does a little dance like they’re using a hula hoop. This one isn’t really a testament to how long you’ve been playing the game like some of the others. It more just shows that you buy random things from the item shop a lot.

  • Rarity: Epic
  • Still Obtainable: No
  • Source: Item Shop
  • Cost: 800 V-Bucks

14. Robot

The Robot is another early Fortnite emote. You can tell it must be a relatively early one since it is just a normal dance. This one is just doing the robot. What makes it rare is both its age and when it was unlocked. You got your hands on this emote at tier 95 of the Season 3 Battle Pass. There weren’t that many players back then, on top of that you had to pretty much finish the Battle Pass to unlock it. This has made the robot one of the rarest Fortnite dance emotes.

  • Rarity: Epic
  • Still Obtainable: No
  • Source: Season 3 Battle Pass Tier 95

15. Chicken

Chicken is an emote that could confuse some sections of the Fortnite player base. While it is someone doing a chicken impression, it is a bizarre impression. This is because it is the chicken dance from Arrested Development, a long-running gag about being unable to accurately do a chicken impression. The crossover between Fortnite fans and fans of a short-lived early 2000s sitcom isn’t all that large, so this emote isn’t the most popular. This is likely why it is so rare, and it hasn’t been back to the item shop all that much.

  • Rarity: Common
  • Still Obtainable: No
  • Source: Item Shop
  • Cost – 500 V-Bucks
