The Engineeris anArchetypein Remnant 2. The Engineeris a highly skilled specialist in Heavy Weaponry, capable of carrying or deploying powerful armaments in turret mode. Remnant 2 Engineer's unique abilities, such as Fortify Metalworker, and Magnetic Field, empower them to overclock Heavy Weapons, increase skill damage, and provide damage reduction to allies. As players advance, their Heavy Weapon capabilities and armor effectiveness improve significantly.Archetypescan be considered the different Classes available in-game. Players' Archetype choice at the beginning of the game is important,but they can change them to another one later on by using another Archetype's item if they so desire.

How to unlock Engineer in Remnant 2

To unlock the Engineer Archetype players need to craft thefollowing Engram:

  • Drzyr Caliper

To craft the Drzyr Caliper Engram, playersfirst need toobtain theAlien Devicewhich can be found somewhere at the edge of the map in the second large zone of N'Erud, (eitherThe Eon VaultorTimeless Horizon)on the ground in a toxic and foggy area. It can be located by looking for a formation of three stalagmites on the right and a small raised platform on the left, with a narrow gap between them that the player must enter to jump down into a small hole. TheAlien Devicecan be sometimes seen on the map before entering the contaminated area. There is a small platform the player must jump to off the edge of the map inside the contaminated area.

Remnant 2 Engineer Prime Perk

All Archetypes have one unique Prime Perk, which becomes available once they use an Archetype as the Main Class.Prime Perkscangettwo upgrades. The first one when they reach level 5, andthe second one once they reach level 10.

Remnant 2 Engineer Archetype Perks

Archetype Perks are divided into four different categories: Damage Perks, Team Perks, Utility Perks, and Relic Perks.

Upgrade:Using a Relic refills 15% of Heavy Weapon Ammo. Bonus is doubled when Heavy Weapon is stowed. If the Stowed Heavy Weapon is overfilled, the Engineer will drop additional Ammo based on the surplus.

EngineerSkills in Remnant 2

All Archetypes have three skills at their disposal, but they can only have one equipped at a time. These skills have long cooldowns, making the decision of WHEN to use them a crucial one. Skills can't be upgraded, and have only one level.

Heavy Weapon: Vulcan
Automatically Unlocked

PRESS: Deploys a Vulcan Turret which lasts until its Ammo is exhausted. Turrets that can aim will prioritize targets that the player Aims at. Press SKILL again to enable autonomous targeting.

HOLD: Deploys to Heavv Carry Mode. If Engineer Prime is available, will Overlock the weapon if already in hand or on the battlefield

DOUBLE PRESS: The weapon is reclaimed,returning 75% of its remaining ammo.

Heavy weapon ammo is regenerated by 1.25% every second, and heavy weapons can only be deployed if at least 25% ammo is available.

Heavy Weapon: Flamethrower
Unlocked at level 5

PRESS: Deploys a Flamethrower turret which lasts until its Ammo is exhausted. Turrets that can aim will prioritize targets that the player Aims at. Press SKILL again to enable autonomous targeting.

  • Ammo generation rate if affected by Skill Cooldown Reduction
  • Prime perk cooldown is affected by Skill Cooldown Reduction
  • Aim Movement Speed, Movement Speed, Evade Distance and Lifesteal bonuses (traits included) works while carrying a Heavy Weapon
  • AOE Size bonuses works with Impact Cannon
  • Deployed Heavy Weapons count as "Summons" for the purposes of Amulets & Rings.
  • Heavy Weapons scale with only Skill damage.
  • All Turrets have a 150% Base Critical Damage.
  • Carried Heavy Weapon melee attack scales witch Melee Damage bonuses.
  • Besides the Vulcan turret, all other Heavy weapons act different when either deployed in turret form or held by the player. Vulcan is a minigun in both forms, Flamethrower is a flamethrower when held and a fire grenade launcher in turret form, and lastly, the Impact Cannon is a chargeable rail gun when held and an AOE shockwave machine in turret form.
  • While carrying a Heavy Weapon, the player will not trigger the cough animation when entering the poisonous fog around the boundaries of open areas in N'Erud, however, once the player triggers any animation that will make the Heavy Weapon disappear from their hands such as jumping or climbing, the cough animation will trigger right after the previous animation ends. (Working as of v384.210)
  • Using the Alchemist Archetype's Vial: Stone Mist skill will allow you to survive N'Erud's Instant Death Blight fog for an extended period of time. This makes it much easier to unlock Engineer.
  • Using a misty blink dodge (by combining the Ring of Omenswith any amulet from Yaesha) while carrying a turret in high water will still misty blink dodge instead of the high water hindered dodge.
