Rising Of the Shield Hero: Journey Revealed - Episode 1-The Shield Hero (2024)

The show opened with a sea waves crashing against rocks and seagulls soaring through the clouds. As the clouds cleared, a man with unknown armor and a green cape flowing in the wind was shown. He was facing the ground, with an indifferent look.

"Master naofumi, it's you. Wait, where are you?" Raphtalia asked. Naofumi looked on at the seen in front of him. His eyes widened in realization. It was that dream. This episode was going to show THAT day. When he lost everything. Kage looked at the shield hero with genuine pity.

"Forgive me Iwatani. This will open some old wounds. However, take solace in the fact you won't suffer this alone. And as for you three, I hope you feel like the sh*t stains you are after this." He thought to himself, with a look of pity to naofumi and a harsh glare to the other three heroes.

An orange ball came bouncing down the rocky terrain, stopping by naofumi's feet. As he picked it up, he looked towards where the ball came from. Jogging after it was a small girl with racoon ears, messy hair, and a short tail. Her look was different but she was instantly recognized by the audience.

"Is that you Raphtalia? You look so adorable as a kid!" Filo shouted, excited to see her friend(older sister). Said racoon girl looked away with a blush and a small, shy smile.

Naofumi faced her with an stoic look but his eyes softened just a bit. Just as he was about to give it back, everything went black. And Suddenly Naofumi woke up with a sharp gasp. It had all been a dream but why did it feel so real to him? Oh, just you wait.

Naofumi looked at his room with a sigh and small smile. He had almost forgotten what it looked liked. As much as he enjoyed being a hero, he had to admit, he missed home.

Naofumi groaned and got up, commenting on what a weird dream it was. Getting up, we get a look at his room with a bright monitor on his desk and several mangas and light novels on a shelf above him. Soon, his voice was heard, narrating. "My name is Naofumi Iwatani. I'm a college sophom*ore with slight otaku tendencies."

Everyone was surprised to hear naofumi's voice narrate but then again, he was the main focus so they could let it slide. Those who weren't from earth however, were looking around his room. Seeing the books and computer monitor with a paused rpg on it had the demihuman, filolial, and royal family intrigued and confused. As well as whatever an otaku was, or a college.

Naofumi open the curtains in his room and flinched at the sunlight. "Bright one today." He muttered. They were shown a outside view of his house.

The otherworldy viewers were amazed by the structure. So much different then any building they've ever seen. Even the royal family had to admit, it looked rather nice. Not exactly a castle or a fortress but it seemed peaceful enough.

"I brought my kid brother back in line when he started breaking bad. So I earned the privileges of living at home. Alone and secluded. With no need for a part-time job, I got to indulge my otaku side. That said, I certainly wasn't one of those so-called shut-ins." He walked down the streets of japan, passing a group of girls talking about some guy they ran into.

Raphtalia and Filo looked on in amazement. They couldn't see much but they could already tell it was vastly different from the open roads they traveled and the other towns they visited. The three cardinal heroes looked on in surprise. It looked similar but they could tell it was different from their japan. But it was still nice to see their old home, even if it wasn't theirs.

He arrived at a huge library and started browsing for any light novels or manga. (A man of culture he is). "When I spending money ran out, I went tot the library to browse through light novels. I was a completely normal nerd, living a completely normal life." He said as he he pulled a novel from a shelf, bringing down several more onto his head.
