My friend Caren Salas had gotten arrested for sitting or lying in the public ways. Not ONLY was the officer at the front desk very rude, he read the receipts wrong for my parking validation and I got a ticket.
Fred rescued us from peril. He got my ticket forgiven by asking the officer if that was their way of getting out of their responsibilities, and then the low low price to bail out Caren.. so low, it's like Fred wasn't even counting the zeros.
He even gave me advice about issues at home. He simply said "don't call your house anymore, go to sleep."
Fred Herbert is a King among Men.
Fred was awesome! Got my friend out of the Walnut jail, but had some misunderstandings at first. He kept asking him to come to his office, and when he said he is in jail, Fred asked him if he was on drugs or drinking. He is very down to earth, and calls you "Homey". Perfect to deal with otherwise, although he must attend ALOT of sporting events since we heard whistles quite often being blown.
Hi to all reading this, you may not know but Fred has passed away as of 2018. To Mike his son and all who held him dear, I want to personally offer my condolences to you on behalf of everyone who had their day brightened by Fred - even if Fred didn’t realize it.
I know it must have been aggravating to no end to receive these prank calls, but to me and countless others, Fred’s voice and demeanor have been a source of humor, fun, and personally I’ve really grown to understand why Fred is by far the most popular soundboard ever created. He is loved and missed dearly by the community. I’m terribly sorry I never got the chance to meet him.
