The fourth grade has had an exciting few weeks as they near the end of their Lower School journey.Friday was the last Lead Like a Fourth Grader workshop series for the year where they shadowed different leaders at Stuart to learn about their roles and the impact they have on the entire community. To celebrate their transition to Middle School, Ms. D hosted a traditional “fancy” luncheon, allowing the girls to dress up and enjoy a catered meal with tablecloths and cloth napkins. Each girl was individually honored for her leadership growth this year, making it a memorable start to their next educational phase. Many thanks to Ms. Silva and Mrs. Simone for their leadership in making all our Lead Like a Fourth Grader events special!

🇺🇸 Being American means following our dreams, and working hard to achieve them.🇺🇸 Being American means honoring those who protect and serve us.🇺🇸 Being American means welcoming people from other countries and appreciating that our differences make us kinder, smarter, and stronger. 🇺🇸 Being American means using our imagination and creativity to invent new things, and our curiosity and courage to explore new frontiers.🇺🇸 Most importantly, being American means believing that all people are equaland should have the opportunity to be happy. The second grade recently presented their annual interdisciplinary study on the fifty states. The audience of families, Lower School friends, and older students enjoyed learning more about each state through trivia, performances and their artfully designed boards. This is a signature unit in the Lower School that many young alums remember fondly.Thank you to Mrs. O’Shea and Mrs. Kim for a comprehensive culmination of your social studies unit and all of your efforts for such a successful production.Photos: https://lnkd.in/eFfrCXzU

Studies show that girls’ school graduates have higher levels of self-confidence in their science-related skills compared to female graduates of coed schools. Every spring in the Middle School, students prepare and present a science independent research project (SISP) focusing on a question of interest. In the past, this was an opportunity for grades 7 and 8 and it has now expanded to include all grades. Students have a chance to answer a question of their own design by using the scientific method, culminating with an SISP Expo that includes feedback from judges in a variety of STEM fields as well as visits from faculty & staff, parents, guardians and students. The SISP experience is crucial for our students to grasp the full scope of science while also building essential life skills such as research, time management, and self-discovery. This experience highlights the unique advantage of a girls' school setting, where students are encouraged to assert their voices, think creatively, and envision future opportunities in science and beyond.Click through to hear what Angela, Alexandra, Azara, Eva, Julia and Lucia learned from the experience: https://lnkd.in/eVnhb6eC

Stuart Middle School had an exciting weekend with the Stuart Voices annual trip to the Music in the Parks choir competition in Jackson NJ! This year, Stuart Voices was joined by two upper school music apprentices - Sophia Feng '25 on piano and Annika Alden-Sigel '26 conducting, who have been working hard to grow their performance and leadership skills. Stuart Voices received first place in the Middle School Treble category and Sophia's piano playing earned the group first place overall in the student accompanist category. Bravo to Stuart Voices and upper school apprentices!
