United Seoul (ICN) ticket counter hours
I tried searching here and didn't readily find an answer--apologies if I missed the right thread and feel free to move this.
The United site says that the hours of operation for the ticket counter at ICN are 9:15 am to 1:30 pm. Is that really the case or a mistake?
We are connecting through ICN in a couple of weeks, arriving from Hanoi on Asiana (single PNR) and leaving later in the day on UA 892 at 5:05 pm. We have confirmed mileage upgrades and will need to pay the co-pay, and I assume that will need to happen at ICN (we'll also try to check in online, but in case we can't for some reason...). Since our layover is 12 hours, we're thinking of going into the city for awhile--but might rethink that if we have to be back before 1:30.
Thanks!

Those hours haven't been updated since UA changed the timing of their SFO flight from a 2-ish departure to the 5-6 PM departure (depends on DST.)
The ticket counter is generally open about 3 hours prior to departure time, but closes at least 30 minutes prior to departure. My guess is that for the 5:05 PM departure, the counter will be open by 2 and close no later than 4:30. I would target to be at the counter no later than 4, which means leaving downtown absolutely no later than 2:30.

the ticket counter hours on ual.com for many airport counters is wrong, but you can be sure they will be open until at least an hour before any departing flight. All extra time in case there are customers ahead of you.

There was one in town, near City Hall. The South Korean call center was in the same location, I believe. But, I can't find any current info online about it, so not sure it's still available for walk-ins. It had M-F hours the last time I used it - 2 years ago.

Thanks for the replies. I figured that couldn't be right given the current schedule. We will be there on a Sunday, so the downtown CTO (if there is one) won't be an option. We'll be sure to allow plenty of time for the return.

You're forgetting about the 12:15PM departure to NRT. Id suspect that, with a lunch break somewhere in there, the counter would be open from mid-morning onward.

There is a level at ICN between Departures and Arrivals (mid level), UA has their office there. Normally there are one to two agents working baggage and other issues. I've NORMALLY had them help me on ticket changes/issues before and they've not had an issue doing it as long as the office is staffed. I believe it's office 2075, and it's on the right most side of the arrivals area if you are facing the street side (above the Family Mart on that side).

Downtown near City Hall. That's the one. (I was staying at the COEX). Hazy memory.
In fact, a flyer talker reported back. See here
A Visit to UA's Seoul, South Korea City Ticket Office
Went in there to force an NC (after receiving an expertflyer alert). Received receipts confirmed in United Business, ICN-SFO ^, in no time. Gave me an excuse to drop in.
Very helpful folks. I hope places like this continue to exist. Would not surprise me if the call center operates from the same location.

Not at all. And they do close the ticket counters while they get the NRT flight off and have lunch. I arrived there to check in for the SFO flight once just as they were closing and the agent wanted me to wait until they re-opened the counters about ~2 hours later. I pleaded with him, he relented, so I got to spend the extra time in the F lounge instead if glumly sitting around the ICN ticketing areas.
