When is the eclipse today across Florida? Here are the best times to head outside (2024)

Cheryl McCloudUSA TODAY NETWORK - Florida

The long-awaited day is here.

A total solar eclipse will occur this afternoon. Thirteen states, and portions of others, are in the path of totality, meaning the moon will completely block the sun.

Florida isn't one of them, but residents will be able to see a partial eclipse. The moon will block up to 76 percent of the sun in Pensacola, but only about 48 percent in Palm Beach.

The weather is looking good across the state, although skies won't be totally clear. High, then clouds could obscure the view in many locations around the state. Southwest Florida looks to have the clearest view.

Enter your ZIP code below to find out what you will be able to see from any Florida city, along with when the eclipse will start, end and maximum coverage of the sun.
